Eventful Lives Podcast
Eventful Lives Podcast
Dodge knows what it takes to learn a new skill and build an audience. Make sure you listen to his Eventful Lives podcast, it is a show that is always high in the iTunes charts.
The reason Dodge is part of YATM Creator Day is that his progress is based around persistence and curiosity to create your own space. He has the successful Bournemouth 7s but when Covid hit, he didn’t know when the next festival would be.
Dodge represents the importance to bring yourself to the front and where curiosity becomes your guide.

Rosie comes with an abundance of knowledge and leads the way for how we can build better communities. Rosie and the word ‘community’ go hand in hand (she is a ‘top community voice’ on LinkedIn).
Rosie Land is her place of discovery and insight.
Rosie also sends the Continuous Community newsletter, this is a dedicated community learning space around The Continuous Community Framework.
A big belief from You Are The Media is for members from the community to lead and step up. Have a read of this article called ‘we can all learn to pass the mic.’

Copy Or Die
Copy Or Die
Dave has built a huge audience on LinkedIn, but also recognised the importance to bring people back to his own space. His newsletter, The Word, has over 20,000 subscribers.
Dave’s approach to LinkedIn is to recognise that life is too short to be swayed by strangers telling you what to do. For example, have a look at Dave’s underwhelming content graph.
The 2024 topic of building spaces is relevant to what Dave and business partner (and fellow Creator Day presenter) Ben McKinney have achieved, by building a presence on a platform and to bring people to their new copy agency, Copy Or Die. When the email was sent that introduced the business, the wait list was in its hundreds!

Copy Or Die
Ben is a part of the YATM family. He is a window cleaner, a writer and takes to the stage with co-founder of Copy or Die, Dave Harland.
Ben and Dave’s working relationship began with a blog interview (you can read that here), that sparked a conversation for two copywriting impresarios to join forces and start their own agency. Whilst many put their eggs in the Chat GPT basket, Ben and Dave recognise the opportunity for people and businesses to find their voice, speak the truth and tell a believable story.
It’s great to have Ben travel down from sunny Norwich and be a part of the occasion at the seaside.

Shelley is a much loved brand strategist from the YATM family and a person we all need when it comes to championing honesty and bringing ourselves into our work.
We are all looking to build something that is meaningful ie. podcast, personal brands, businesses but at the same time we have to be honest with ourselves that we’re never carved to be presenters, writers, publishers. Shelley believes that we are not defined by the medium we share from.
Shelley has the Brand Compass podcast and an episode recommendation to listen to looks at visibility from a quieter place to still have impact (listen here).

Upgrading Women
Rebecca arrived in the UK during a tough time for everyone in 2020 and started from zero.
When no one else picks you, you have to be prepared to pick yourself. That is exactly what Rebecca has done.
Rebecca has built her space, Upgrading Women, to welcome entrepreneurial females who put mindset over matter and kindness over follower count. There is also the new club, Girl Brand.
The Upgrading Women newsletter, shares stories from around the globe of others who are making their mark, but with a slant beyond westernised cultures. Our 2024 Creator Day theme of building spaces, aligns with the work from Rebecca and what she is achieving with others.

You Are The Media
You Are The Media
YATM started from zero in October 2013 and today it welcomes people into the community from all over the world.
The starting place for over 10 years has been the Thursday newsletter, this has extended to events, learning and bringing people together into this community space that has been built by everyone.
The whole aim is for people and businesses to become self sufficient, so others want to come to you, where you cut out the middleman, no more gatekeeepers and swerve the algorithm.
What Creator Day presents is the proof to you of others who are building their own spaces. Plus, it feels good to be a part of a special occasion with others, in the same space at the same time.
youarethemedia.co.uk/The YATM weekly newsletter helps you with new ideas on being self sufficient, swerving the algorithm and becoming a leading voice in your marketplace. Leave your email to subscribe.
